Jining is an important carbon material industrial base in China, with 801 enterprises above designated size and the Jining New Materials Park is ranked among China's Top 20 chemical industrial parks. The city leads the nation in the production and sales of needle coke,pitch-based carbon fiber, and silicon carbide. Its production and sales of prebaked anodes, graphene, and specialty graphite rank among the top three nationwide. Its green nyion industrial chain is internationally recognized. Jining is also China's largest production base for Lyocell, a new material.
