In 2023, Shandong's regional GDP exceeded RMB 9 trillion, the investment in "new technologies, industries, businesses and models" increased by 11.1%, and the number of business entities exceeded 14.65 million. Shandong will achieve the main expected goals set out in the Government Work Report 2024 with the following three "firsts".

The first is the national enterprise technical center. By the end of 2023, Shandong had 210 national enterprise technical centers, ranking first in China. So far, 1,714 national enterprise technical centers have been approved, of which one out of every nine is from Shandong.

The second is the SME digital transformation promotion center. In January this year, China's first SME digital transformation promotion center was launched in Jinan. This center will gather about 1,300 high-quality service providers, offer more than 5,000 high-quality solutions, and provide training for over 10,000 person-times of entrepreneurs within three years to promote the intelligent and digital transformation of SMEs.

The third is new energy. By the end of 2023, Shandong's new energy storage scale had reached 3.75 million kilowatts, ranking first in China. The cumulative installed capacity of new energy had exceeded 91 million kilowatts. Shandong also ranked first in China in terms of the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation and new energy storage.
