On January 11, the press conference of the "top 10 sci-tech progress news in China and the world" in 2023 voted by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering was held in Yantai, Shandong. The top 10 sci-tech innovation achievements of Shandong Province in 2023 and nominations for sci-tech innovation achievements were released at the conference.

The 8-micron uncooled infrared thermal imaging module of Yantai Raytron Technology Co., Ltd. and other achievements were selected as the top 10 sci-tech innovation achievements of Shandong Province in 2023. Besides, 10 achievements including the iron-based butyl rubber of Shandong Energy Institute (Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences) were nominated for sci-tech innovation achievements of Shandong Province in 2023.

In July 2023, Shandong Province initiated the release of "Shandong's Excellent Achievements". Up to now, 603 achievements have been collected and 30 major sci-tech achievements have been selected and released in six batches. The Shandong Institute of Innovation and Development organized a series of activities, which attracted more than 350 universities and colleges, investment institutions, and key enterprises inside and outside the province for on-site participation. More than 210,000 persons participated online and more than 50 cooperation intentions were reached, effectively promoting accurate matchmaking between experts and entrepreneurs as well as achievements and capital.
