On October 11, the Opening Ceremony of the Fourth Qingdao Multinationals Summit was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Mohammed Y. Al Qahtani, Downstream President of Saudi Aramco and representative of multinationals' leadership, delivered a speech. In his speech, he said that as one of China's largest refining and chemical centers, Aramco values Shandong not only for its strength today, but for the province's promising outlook in the future as well.

While short-term investment and volatility remain prominent features of the energy world today, the world needs bold, yet rational, long-term energy strategies and investments. Against the backdrop, Aramco has set its goal of converting 4 million barrels of oil per day to produce chemicals by 2030.

In late 2021, Aramco opened its first office in Shandong, which is working on the engineering, procurement and fabrication of key structures for its offshore fields with major partners. At last, he said that Aramco has a keen interest in large-scale, integrated petrochemical projects in Shandong and expects to strengthen cooperation and mutual trust with Shandong.
