Shandong Has Established Nine International Sci-tech Cooperation Bases with Germany and other European Countries

Recently, the People's Government of Shandong Province held a press conference. According to Zhang Haibo, Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, a total of nine international sci-tech cooperation bases have been established between Shandong and Germany and other European countries and a number of international industrial cooperation projects have been implemented at a faster pace. For example, Inspur announced an official entry into Germany's communication market and Weichai Power acquired a stake in Germany's Linde Hydraulics; Sino-German (Jinan) SMEs Cooperation Zone and Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark have grown into role models of cooperation between Shandong and Germany; Jinan has introduced the dual education system from Germany to promote "German Practical Teaching" together with German sides and cultivated a large number of high-end professionals.

Sino-German (Jinan) SMEs Cooperation Zone has been established for six years. As of last year, its fixed asset investment and industrial output value had reached 21.9 billion yuan and 11.716 billion yuan respectively, achieving an increase of two to three times. More than 1,300 enterprises with a combined total of 50,000 employees have been attracted, including 53 foreign-funded enterprises and 130 enterprises above the designated size. Germany's industry-leading enterprises such as Bosch, Continental Automotive Electronics, Volkswagen, Hengst, and BMTS Technology enjoy robust development and many other enterprises such as AAT and PST have expressed their interest in cooperation.
