Recently, the General Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government issued Several Measures to Promote the High-quality Development of Tourism and Accommodation Industries in Shandong Province. The document proposes to implement the brand-led strategy, support cities in introducing international and domestic high-end hotel brands, and take the operation and management of Shandong's tourism and accommodation industries to a new level. By the end of 2025, at least three "Friendly Shandong" boutique hotels will be built in each city, at least five in each key tourist city, and at least 100 in the whole province.

The document specifies that Shandong should encourage tourism and accommodation enterprises to apply new technologies such as the Internet, IoT, VR, and AI to transform and build zero-contact and low-contact service hotels. Meanwhile, Shandong should also encourage cities to introduce policies and measures to support the development of tourism and accommodation industries, provide support for all kinds of enterprises to invest in building, renovating, and expanding high-quality hotels in terms of land supply, supporting facilities and financial benefits for enterprises and guide all kinds of tourism and accommodation enterprises to actively participate in the evaluation and review of star-rated hotels, homestays, and others, so as to enhance the development vitality of tourism and accommodation industries.
