Recently, the China Finland Smart Energy (Jinan) Forum was held in Jinan City, Shandong Province. During the forum, more than 40 Finnish enterprises conducted negotiations and exchanges with their counterparts in Shandong to expand cooperation in energy, intelligent manufacturing, and other fields.

Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, Ambassador of Finland to China, attended the forum and said that Finland has long-term cooperation with China in energy and Finnish enterprises mainly in smart grids, bioenergy, clean heating and so on are very active in Shandong's clean energy market. At the level of practice, the two countries have signed a memorandum of understanding in energy, laying a solid foundation for specific cooperation.

In recent years, Shandong has worked to promote the large-scale development of clean energy according to local conditions. While focusing on the construction of offshore wind power, offshore PV and other projects, Shandong has coordinated the construction of power regulation resources such as pumped storage power stations and new energy storage. By doing so, Shandong strives to ensure the rapid development and reasonable use of new and renewable energy. At present, the utilization rate of new and renewable energy in the province remains above 95%.
